Palacio Gustavo Capanema

Rating:

Good

Built in 1943 and located across the street Imprensa, 16, Centro. Enjoy the journey to discover the center of the city of Rio de Janeiro. This work was advised by the Franco-Swiss architect Le Corbusier, one of the great exponents of the Modern Movement. Niemeyer was an architect of the team. The project follows the 5 corbusian points, as in the Swiss Pavilion, an apartment building in Paris, designed by Le Corbusier in 1930. The building is supported with piles, allowing the free movement of pedestrians below it. The building brings together the biggest names of Brazilian modernism: Portinari, Alfredo Ceschiatti and Roberto Burle Marx. It is considered the first major milestone of modern architecture in Brazil
