This magnificent museum, managed by the Fundaçâo Nacional do Índio (FUNAI), is dedicated to the Brazilian indigenous cultural heritage. It is estimated that in the Amazon basin and the border with Paraguay approximately 650,000 indigenous live in the area, belonging to 220 tribes. The Museu do Indio organizes long and short exposures of Guarani ethnic groups in the south of Brazil, or Oiapoque in the north. The garden shows, concerts and dance festivals.
